Robin Williams’ daughter made a public plea in an Instagram story posted Monday on her Instagram account, asking fans to stop sending AI-generated videos of her father.

Zelda Williams, 36, harshly criticized the circulation of artificial recreations of the late actor, who tragically passed away in 2014 at the age of 63.

“Please stop sending me AI videos of my dad,” wrote the filmmaker. “Stop assuming I want to see them or that I’ll understand. I don’t want to and I won’t. If you’re just trying to troll me, I’ve seen far worse — I’ll restrict you and move on. But please, if you have even a shred of decency, stop doing this to him, to me, to everyone. Enough.”

Zelda was outspoken about how she feels regarding AI-generated content: “It’s stupid, it’s a waste of time and energy, and believe me, it’s NOT what he would have wanted,” she said.

“Watching the legacies of real people get condensed into something that only vaguely looks or sounds like them — just so others can churn out some awful garbage on TikTok by manipulating them — is maddening.”

“You’re not making art — you’re making disgusting, overprocessed sausages out of human lives, out of the history of art and music, and then shoving them down someone else’s throat hoping for a like. Gross.”

Williams’ daughter concluded her post by rejecting the idea that AI represents the future: “And for the love of EVERYTHING, stop calling this the ‘future.’ AI is just recycling and regurgitating the past to repackage it. You’re consuming the Human Centipede of content — at the very end of the line — while the people up front are laughing, eating, and consuming.”
